How does Tailstays work?

Tailstays helps you find trusted pet hotels across the UK. Search by location, browse listings with photos and pricing, then send a booking request. The hotel will contact you directly to discuss your pet's needs and confirm your booking.

Is Tailstays free for pet owners?

Yes, completely free. There are no fees or charges for pet owners to use Tailstays. You pay the hotel directly when you book.

What happens after I send a request?

The hotel receives your booking request with your contact details and pet information. They'll reach out to you directly (usually within 24–48 hours) to discuss availability and finalise your booking.

What if the hotel doesn't respond?

We've got you covered. After 24 hours, we send the hotel a reminder. After 48 hours with no response, we'll email you with alternative hotels nearby. You can always send booking requests to multiple hotels.

Can I book and pay online?

Not yet — but instant booking is coming soon! For now, you'll arrange payment directly with the hotel after they confirm availability.

How do I save my pets to my profile?

Accepted Answer

Create a free account, then go to My Profile → My Pets. Add your pet's details once, and they'll be pre-filled on all future booking requests.

How do I claim my listing?

Accepted Answer

1. Find your hotel on Tailstays using the search
2. Click “Claim This Listing” on your hotel’s page
3. We’ll send a verification email to the business email we have on file
4. Click the link to verify — you’ll then have full control of your listing

My hotel isn't listed. How do I add it?

We're constantly expanding our directory. To add your hotel, email us at support@tailstays.com with your hotel name, full address, contact details, and website. We'll add your listing and let you know when you can claim it.

What does claiming cost?

Accepted Answer

We're offering early access pricing: Free for the first 3 months — no payment details required. After that, it's £19/month. Claiming is optional, but unclaimed listings are limited to 2 booking requests per month.

Yes! We're building instant booking so customers can book and pay directly through Tailstays. Claimed hotels will get access first. For now, bookings are arranged directly between you and the customer.
